Sept. 24,2013

September 24, 2013 is fast approaching, the question on most people's minds is will she or won't she. Trista announced that she would reveal the evidence shown her on Jan.3, 2013, and I believe right now she will do just that.

Good idea, bad idea, does not matter, she is frustrated with this case and we all understand her frustration. There are a lot of people cheering her on to release the graphic information and get Justice for Ayla. They want the world to know what Trista has been shown and told by LE.
Some are already privy to this information and, even they feel we the public should know all about this evidence.

They believe that an arrest on charges related to Ayla’s disappearance may lead to the disclosing of what happened to Ayla and where her remains are. Their primary goal is to bring Ayla home.

In turn they hope with everyone that reads, and hears this evidence they can force the AG to go ahead and prosecute, the person that is believed to be the prime suspect in this missing persons case.
Some believe that LE actually wants this information released through Trista, in order to assert pressure on the W3 or 4. There may even be more than 4 people we don't know.

We would appreciate your thoughts on the releasing of this information.

No matter how this plays out we would like you to participate in the following event/s

.

  1. Reynolds, a Gorham resident, said he was asked by investigators to withhold additional details from the meeting because it could jeopardize the case, according to the website.

I can only think that they will still hold back the additional details they were asked. The 24th we will be told only things that will not jeopardize the investigation. jmo

    4. I believe there is a typo: Trista is the Gorham resident in article but is referred to as "he". Also keep in mind that was then (Feb. 2013) now is Sept. 2013. Maybe things have changed.

    5. This is the thing I question they say Alex and his mother were there Jan 3. But this was told the newspaper reporter.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said he had "no reaction" to the website's claims, adding that the information shared during that meeting "is between us and her."

    6. So is "he" referring to McCausland? Or Alex? Or is it a typo?
      Just wondering.

    7. On Sunday, Ayla's step-grandfather posted a brief summary of the meeting on his website, saying that investigators told Trista Reynolds that there is "unequivocal evidence" that her daughter Ayla is dead. Police, however, won't confirm the claim.

Jeff Hanson, the step-grandfather and webmaster for aylareynolds.com, also wrote that investigators shared photographs of items that were found in the Kennebec River during searches by state police last spring, but "Trista could not identify the items as Ayla's."

Reynolds, a Gorham resident, said he was asked by investigators to withhold additional details from the meeting because it could jeopardize the case, according to the website.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said he had "no reaction" to the website's claims, adding that the information shared during that meeting "is between us and her."

"I'm not going to get into specifics other than to repeat what I've said: We think it's unlikely (Ayla) is still alive," he said.

    8. In my opinion he was referring to what Jeff had to say on his website. What LE told Trista for evidence was between LE and Trista. He doesn't say any non family members were present. Jeff was not there from what I understand and I would expect him to have been there not a boyfriend.

    9. Actually that doesn't really matter as we will listen to what Trista has to say, and if we think the thing to do is push for prosecution each person will do what they think is best.

    10. Reynolds spoke to News 8 on Thursday night about the meeting she had with investigators last month.

She said police have showed her pictures of evidence in the case, but she would not say what that evidence is.

Reynolds said she is hesitant to provide details because investigators asked her to refrain from sharing information that could jeopardize their case.

well that's pretty vague. Don't share info that could jeopardize the case but which info is that? Wonder if they specified to her or just told her to be careful.

    12. I also wonder if she would be going forward with this if Justin was not going to court. Did things change because of what he did or because she has had enough at this point and wants to tell just enough info so people will understand why the police are saying she is no longer alive. On other blogs people wanted to do pictures of Ayla with older but everyone was told to back off because it was upsetting Trista and then people were wondering at that point if the meeting did provide info that Ayla was no longer with us. This is what I hope will happen on 24th is for her to release some info why and not enough to hurt a jury. The police will not back her because of the risks but she may have goven to a breaking point. Jeff has not mention if it has to do with Justin's arrest but people may feel it is for that reason and not accept it because it will be second info and not straight from the police.

      ____________

I've wondered the same, Nene. The PC has been orchestrated to coincide with Justin's court date.

If Justin had not been arrested....????

    14. I have wondered if it has something to do with Courtney & Justin separating. As well as Justin's court date.
Those 2 things occurring right around the same time.
Perhaps a push and pressure on Courtney to reveal something...*IF* she knows anything to reveal.

...Jeff himself stated that Trista was working with LNM to do an age progression photo of Ayla AFTER Trista met with MSP in Jan. He made that comment in Feb.

    16. It is hard to say the reasoning. I know she didn't want age progression done, it seemed strange at the time.

....Tori responded to this comment in another place. I copied it to over here.

Tori- Trista raised a stink on Facebook and attacked those publishing unauthorized pictures of an age progressed Ayla. Jeff did say that LMN was working with Trista but nothing came to fruition. From my understanding Trista has accepted Ayla is gone and does not want to go through with any age progressed photos

    19. There are a few things that bother me about the age progressed photo.

If Trista believes that Ayla is deceased, I can understand why she wouldn't want an aged progressed photo of Ayla done.

That being said, Jeff made the comment in Feb 2013 that Trista *IS* working with Cindy to do an age progressed photo. That she just didn't like the one seen on the internet, as she didn't feel it looked like Ayla.
This comment was made after the "unequivocal evidence" statement.

If Trista learned Jan 3. that Ayla is deceased, wouldn't she by mid Feb have told Cindy that she wasn't doing an aged progressed photo of Ayla, as she has learned that Ayla is deceased? Maybe she did however, from a comment made by Cindy of LNM, in mid Feb., I didn't get that impression.

...LNM- Cindy-"While it looks very grim, we must still maintain hope and continue to work with getting posters and getting information out."

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, I don't know.

    20. I don't think your reading to much into it. Just like anything else with out a body you need to keep hope alive. You just can't give up, what would be next stop searching because you feel you know she is deceased. What if she turned up some day alive you tell her oh I gave up on you it was all LE's fault they told me you were deceased. I wouldn't ever want to have to tell my child I lost all hope and stopped looking.

    1. Precisely the reasons why Ayla's body will not be found.
And the AG will not proceed with the case for trial no matter the "evidence" that Trista might discuss that she was shown.

The revelations coming up appear to me to be a ploy for Trista to "get it out there" in spite of the fact that LE and the AG are at loggerheads over proceeding with the case. At least, LE wants the public to know that they did do their best. But without a body, it's likely to go cold case.

Perhaps the cops have done their duty as far as it can go and have a suspect, but the AG, new to the job in Maine, is not taking any chances with her career and losing a case where there is no body. Especially considering the anount of people who think Ayla is still alive and enjoying her life with her kidnapper..

  3. Whether police and the prosecutor are at loggerheads or not, they will close ranks and promulgate a unified position once the release goes public. The immediacy and volume of the outcry on seeing the evidence may help determine what position they take, IMO.

  4. No matter what they do we all need to keep focused on bringing Ayla home then she can receive justice.

  5. Food for Thought:
    "Whether to Prosecute
Prosecutors have a lot of discretion on whether to charge a defendant and which offenses they wish to pursue. Here are some of the most important factors to a prosecutor:

Political Aspirations: prosecutors often run for office or seek political appointments. As a result, they are keenly aware of the image prosecuting a particular offense sends the community. Even if the evidence is questionable, if there is considerable community outrage, a prosecutor may decide to pursue a case. Alternatively, certain crimes will almost always be prosecuted, because not prosecuting them sends a bad message (e.g., DUIs).

Office Policies: prosecution offices often have policies regarding which crimes they want to prosecute. There may be a push to prosecute a certain kind of crime or a policy to not prosecute other crimes that the office considers less important.

Prosecutor's Notion of Justice: prosecutors are people, and just like everyone else have beliefs and ideas about right and wrong. On one hand, it may lead a prosecutor to pursue a case more aggressively than may be warranted by the facts. On the other hand, it may lead to a prosecutor filing lesser charges or choosing not to pursue a case where the prosecutor thinks justice will still be served even though no one is charged with a crime."

    1. Notice in this article "Notion of Justice" comes last. I do not have knowledge of Maine's AG/Prosecution system nor the potential prosecutor(s) for a criminal case like AYLA's. Unfortunately the prosecution for AYLA's case could be influenced by politics, money, or ambition. Sad but true.
